Fletcher Place sits on some of the oldest sewer infrastructure in Indianapolis — laterals and city mains dating to the 1870s and earlier. We camera-scope before any major work here because the pipe surprises don't wait for an emergency. Same flat-rate. Back to all service areas or Indianapolis historic-district drain specialists.
Fletcher Place is named after Calvin Fletcher, one of Indianapolis's earliest settlers — the neighborhood has been continuously occupied since the 1830s. Some of the buried infrastructure underneath dates to the original sanitary sewer expansion of the 1870s-1890s. Original clay tile laterals run to original city mains in a few places, with various replacements and patches layered in over 150 years.
Camera-first is mandatory here. You cannot reliably predict what's underground in Fletcher Place. Some homes have original 1870s clay tile in active service. Some have 1950s cast iron replacements. Some have 2010s PVC installed during recent renovation. Scope before any major work to avoid expensive surprises.
Trenchless lining (CIPP) is overwhelmingly the right answer for Fletcher Place sewer repair. The historic district status of much of the neighborhood plus the value of preserving the underground routing without disturbing surface infrastructure both point to CIPP over full excavation.

Call (463) 331-0700Camera scope. The footage shows the pipe material clearly — clay tile has joint patterns every 2-3 feet, cast iron is uniform with internal scale, PVC is bright and uniform. Each material has known failure modes.
Possibly — but trenchless lining (CIPP) is the right answer when replacement becomes necessary. It preserves the buried routing, requires no excavation, and carries a lifetime warranty. Full replacement is rarely justified for Fletcher Place homes.

Portions are. Internal drain work isn't affected; external excavation requires Indianapolis Historic Preservation Commission review. Trenchless lining doesn't trigger review since nothing is visible from the street.
